Can we please talk about Johanna Mason

Johanna Mason
was absolutely
and completely
perfect.

I would watch Catching Fire again just for her interview and the elevator scene.  Okay I'm not sure if there's anyone on earth who could've played Johanna better than Jena Malone.  I may have had my doubts okay but she was perfect and that's really all you can say about her.

MAHOGANY

Okay so
I don't know if anyone else noticed, but when Effie was leading Katniss and  Peeta through Snow's house (which I thought was WAY too small), they went through a library and Effie says something along the lines of "This is the library.  All mahogany."
I like how they're doing this mahogany thing.  It kind of adds this inside joke and I LOVE inside jokes.  Like you wouldn't get it if you hadn't seen the first one.

There's this really good trilogy that's out and I'm reading it.  It's called the Across the Universe trilogy.  It's a bit weird but flawless and perfect.

SO sorry for not updating in FOREVER.  So while  I was gone:

1~ I saw it at 7:00 (pm) the day it came out and I cried like three times and I think we're getting the DVD for Christmas
2~ I saw it at 7:00 (pm) the day after it came out and bought the DVD two days after it came out and I've watched it like ten times (You invited him to bed? I know, it's ridiculous, isn't it? We never would've all fit.)
3~ I got it the day after it came out in the mail in hardback, finished it the next day, and sat in my bed for an hour crying afterward
4~ My sister got it the day after it came out, took a month to read it, and finally gave it to me and I finished in three days. 
5~ I ONLY GOT TO SEE IT ONCE :((((((((((((((((((
6~ Guess who's not going?
7~ I'm kind of mad because A) I was not informed that it was out and didn't even know there was one until Nov. 23 when I saw Catching Fire and B) THEY DID MY BABY'S TATTOOS WRONG.

So now you know.  I hope nobody forgot about my blog...

Short Story: Katniss gets hijacked

I wake up in a cold, dank cell.  Dim fluorescent bulbs light the room and the hall outside the bars.  Across the hall, I hear a voice.  It's vaguely familiar.
     "Rise and shine, brainless." Johanna.  The thought is comforting in a strange way.
     "Where are we?" I ask her.
     "In the Capitol.  Since you warned Thirteen about the bombing, they locked all of us down here and your torture is lined up for . . . ten minutes from now," she says.  "Thanks for getting us in trouble."
     The memory slowly makes its way into my head.  I'd been fooled into acting like the Capitol's pawn, and I warned District 13 about the bombing, knowing that Peeta was there, somewhere.  The district had figured out how to hack into the broadcasting system and we were thrown into turmoil.  Then Snow had them black it out, and I only remember pain and red.  
     It must take ten minutes to relive this, because the clang of a lock being thrown on the stone floor makes me start.  A bulky guard drags me to my feet and locks handcuffs around my wrists. Then he pulls me out of the cell.  As we walk by Johanna's cell, I can see her smile sympathetically at me.
     We enter a white room, and the bright lights hurt my eyes.  A screen is mounted on one wall, and there is a hospital bed facing the screen.  The man shoves me down onto the bed and straps me on.  A doctor walks in, holding a wickedly large needle filled with clear liquid.  He stabs it into the crease of my elbow as I squeeze my eyes closed, and I feel a familiar sensation that I associate with my first Hunger Games.  
     I hear a noise coming from the screen and open my eyes.  The screen shows Peeta and five others.  It is a clip from my first Games.  The clear liquid must be making me hallucinate, because all of a sudden, images of my loved ones dying cloud my brain.  The doctor must see the desperate look on my face because he puts something on my forehead, and all I see and hear is the film.  The children were trying to kill me, and so was Peeta.  Then the scene changes.  I see myself laying on the ground with a bow in my hands.  Peeta jumps through the bushes with a spear.  Then, a picture of Peeta with a gun shows up.  I am there too.  Strange, I don't remember this.  Peeta aims the gun at me.  The screen goes black and I realize that Peeta does not want to help me.  I should not have saved him last night.  Peeta is not my lover.  Peeta is my enemy.

So, I'm writing this book...

Divergent Movie

As some of you know, Lionsgate is making a movie adaptation of Divergent.  It will be in theaters March of 2014.  The director is Neil Burger. They have some of the main characters cast, including Tris and Caleb Prior, Tobias 'Four' Eaton, Peter, Eric, Christina, and Tori.  Many of the fans are objecting to some of the choices, including the love interest of Tris, Tobias Eaton. 




The main character, Tris, is played by Shailene Woodley, and to many of the fans, she is perfect.  I agree with them wholeheartedly. 







Tobias Eaton will be played by Theo James.  The fans had two main people that they wanted: Drew Roy and Alex Pettyfer.  Unfortunately, neither of them was cast.  I can't say I'm entirely pleased with the choice of Theo James, but we'll see.






Tris's friend, Christina, is played by Zoe Kravitz.  She definitely fits my description of Christina.  She is the daughter of Lenny Kravitz, who plays Cinna in The Hunger Games, and since many Divergent fans are also fans of The Hunger Games (including me), we're excited that the movies show some sort of connection.  (It's a fan thing.)





The leader of Erudite, Jeanine Matthews, is played by Kate Winslet.  Once again, she fits the description very well.  I'm definitely pleased.










Caleb Prior, who is Tris's brother is played by Ansel Elgort, who not many of us fans have heard of.  There were a few others who we wanted to play Caleb, for example Logan Lerman.  But Ansel Elgort definitely is Caleb.  Or so it seems...






Tris's fellow initiate and enemy Molly Atwood is played by Amy Newbold, who seems good for Molly, though I hadn't put much thought into who should play her.










Another fellow initiate and enemy of Tris is Peter, who will be played by Miles Teller.  He definitely reminds me of what I pictured Peter looking like.  I think it was a good choice, but you never know.











Tori, a friend of Tris, is played by Maggie Q.  Good choice, but she's just a bit too young, to me anyway. 











Jai Courtney will play a Dauntless Leader named Eric.  Eric is tough and cruel, and later in the story becomes a traitor.  I think the director did well.

Recently, Lionsgate released the official posters for the upcoming sequel to The Hunger Games, Catching Fire.  The film is in theaters on November 22, 2013.  The characters include Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Gale Hawthorne, Finnick Odair, Johanna Mason, Beetee, Effie Trinket, President Snow, Cinna, Haymitch Abernathy, and Caesar Flickerman.  They have also released some of the official posters advertizing the movie.
