- In the mine explosion that supposedly killed Katniss's father, Mr. Everdeen had been clever enough to find a way out. He saw his family grieving for him and ran away to the Capitol where he had plastic surgery, had his eye color changed, and changed his name to Cinna. He got a job as a stylist for Katniss, and that is why he asked for District Twelve. This could be the reason Cinna and Katniss were so close.
- When Foxface was thought to have been killed by nightlock, she had really created a dummy, and pretended to steal and eat the berries. The Gamemakers never found out, and created the mutt like her because they thought she was dead. But she was still in the woods surviving and stayed alive until the new Republic of Panem destroyed the arenas.
- Everyone thought that Cato had cut Peeta, but really, Peeta cut himself and acted like it was Cato. Even Cato thought he had cut Peeta. By doing this, Peeta was guaranteed to get attention from Katniss. But he didn't plan to get blood poisoning. So to get a fake girlfriend, Peeta had almost taken his own life.

Hunger Games Plot Twists
Chapter 2
"Wake up!!!" When I open my eyes, my face is inches from Alpina's. I jerk upward, bonking my head into hers. I grumble something taht sounds like "mm hm" and slide out of bed. I had hoped to escape a lecture, but no such luck.
"How could you have gone to sleep when we were a mere seventy five minutes from the Capitol? We have a tight schedule to attend to! You have five minutes to make yourself presentable. Now chop-chop!" she says, and literally stares at me while I get dressed and brush my teeth and hair.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I clutch the wolf-shaped charm on my necklace, the one thing I was allowed to keep wearing, as Fortunia, the head of my prep-team, rips a sheet of hot wax off my leg.
"Nice job, sweetie! Only twenty four more!" she trills. Her high-pitched voice is giving me a headache.
The other woman, Pomona, trims my hair while the man, Quintus, cuts and paints my fingernails. I've been sitting in the Ramake Center for an hour, being waxed, painted, and trimmed.
"If only you took better care of this hair," says Quintus. To be honest, my hair was the last thing on my mind the last twenty four hours. But when I look in the mirror, my hair is oily and tangled.
Twenty four sheets of hot wax, tow bottles of nail polish and a lot of lotion later, I find myself in a small dining room. The door slides open and a man, maybe thirty, walks in.
"Hi, I'm Charon. I'll be your stylist," he says. Something in his voice tells me he'd rather walk on hot coals than be my stylist. Great.
"So," I say. "You don't like me."
"Ding, ding, ding. See, since Josie, no one respects me. Now eat some lunch while I go find some colored contact lenses," he says. He presses a button and a table appears, holding a steaming plate of food. On the plate is a bird smaller than a turkey, maybe quail. There are three different types of vegetables on the sides. I dig in. The food is indescribably good, but it's the last thing I'm thinking of. For one, usually people compliment my blue-green eyes. But for some reason this Charon guy thinks they're ugly or something. He comes back, carrying a box labeled 'ice blue'. I'm guessing it contains the contact lenses.
"Here are your lenses. I picked light blue," Charon explains. He walks over, sits down, and grabs to small transparent circles. He tells me to open my eyes wide and be completely still. He puts one on his finger and pokes my eye, then does the other. I look in the mirror, and I see a girl with silky black-brown hair and icy blue eyes. It takes me about five minutes to realize that I'm looking at myself. Not that I'm stunned or anything. The lenses make my eyesight blurry.
"Much better," says Charon. Yeah right.
"I can't see in these," I complain. Charon looks at me like I have just spoken to him in a foreign language.
"Too bad for you!" Charon exclaims, then he walks out to get my costume. I sit down. Charon didn't seem nice, but that's normal. Usually the stylists are just as self-absorbed as Charon. He said something about Josie, what was it again? That no one respected him? Before I can come to a conclusion, Charon comes in, holding a sheet of chain mail and four strings of small lightbulbs.
"What is my chariot costume? A knight or a Christmas tree?" I ask, and Charon glares at me. He dresses me in the chain mail gown and puts the lights around my neck, wrists and ankles and makes a crown around my head. Charon grabs a small remote and presses a button. The bulbs flicker to life.
"There," he says.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I stand next to Rowan, who is wearing a boys' version of my costume. Our chariot is silver, pulled by gray horses. The District Two chariot begins to pull out, and Charon flicks our lights on. Our horses begin to move forward. As soon as we get outside, I know something is wrong. Thunder rumbles and dark clouds have gathered overhead.
My instincts were correct. s we reach the City Circle, rain begins to pour. I look at Rowan, and his lights start spewing sparks. Mine do to. My arms, legs, and neck begin to feel like they have been set on fire. I smell burning hair. I crumple to the chariot floor, sure that Rowan's scared, pale face is the last thing I'll ever see.

Chapter One of (title undecided)
I decided to make my own Hunger Games story, so here goes:
For a moment, I don't know where I am. Then I remember. I am on the tribute train to the Capitol. Yesterday was the reaping. I lay in bed awhile, recounting the previous day's events.
Being the mayor's daughter, the odds of me being chosen were slim. But somehow it happened. I am fourteen. Since I have no need for tesserae, my name was in three times. I hadn't thought twice about myself, but was extremely worried for my friend Selene, whose name was in twenty-four times. She lives in the poorer part of District Three.
The ceremonies had just begun and Alpina Partron, the escort, was about to begin choosing tributes. "Boys first," she said, mildly surprising everyone. She walked over, her bright yellow braids bobbing every time she took a step. "Rowan Bertram!" I felt like someone had punched me in the stomach. Rowan was Selene's only brother. Before I could find Selene in the crowd, Alpina was reaching into the girls' bowl.
"Rhee Cardham!" Guess who that was. Yours truly.
No, I thought. Please, no. I walked stiffly to the stage, sure I was heading to my demise.
The rest of the day was a blur. I slept as soon as I laid down. Now here I am, curled up on a train, numb with sorrow. I can hear the shrill voice of my new mentor, Josie Overton. I fall out of bed, slip on some black shoes, and drag my feet all the way to the dining room. As soon as I walk in, Josie looks at me like roadkill.
"If it isn't little miss Rhee Cardham," she sneers. The way she says my name sounds like 'ray-ee'.
"It's Rhee, like free. Get it right," I snap and slide into the farthest chair from Josie.
Just then, a boy in a white tunic brings a platter of steaming delicacies to the table. "Um, you know I'm on a no-carb breakfast diet! Bring me something else," Josie snaps to the waiter. He nods, somewhat guiltily, and shuffles off.
"So," Alpina begins. "Today we arrive in the Capitol. You will have the chariot parade tonight." Oh, great, I think. I had completely forgotten. Now I'll be dressed like a lightbulb or some other stupid electronic. I begin to acknowledge the food. Eggs, ham, stew, batter cakes with jam, rolls, coffee, juices, hot chocolate and toast. I stuff myself for good measure. Then Rowan walks in, accompanied by a man who looks about twenty.
"Hi," he says. "I'm Clovis Neil, Rowan's mentor."
I am immediately jealous of Rowan. He gets the normal one and I get princess of the snobs. Clovis looks like Rowan and Selene, with caramel hair and brown eyes.
I scarf down the small remainder of my breakfast and hurry off to my room, where I find another servant. "What are you doing here?" I ask. She avoids my eyes and rushes off. I lay down on my bed and doze off.

What Do You Think?
Have you ever wondered what the tributes' last names were? I know I have. So recently, I came across some fan-made last names for Cato and Clove. Clove's were Sevina and Kentwell, and Cato's were Larek and Hadley. I wanted to create one for Rue, Thresh, Glimmer, and Marvel and a first and last name for Foxface. Comment with your suggestions and whether you like Sevina or Kentwell for Clove and the same for Cato. (I personally like Sevina and Hadley.) For Rue I was thinking maybe Holloway. Glimmer could be Livingston and Marvel might be Clarke. I thought Foxface's first name would be Finch and her last name would be Crossley. Just tell me what you think, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
Less Than a Year!!!
As of Friday, November 23rd, all we eager fans only have one more year to wait for the Catching Fire premiere! As listed on my previous posts, there is a website that counts down. That being said, here are some fan-made pictures:
I know that as soon as the stores release the posters, they'll be on my wall! Isn't it amazing what people can do with photo-editing? If you find a picture you like, comment and post it there. May the odds be ever in your favor!

Real
"What I need to survive is not Gale's fire,
kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself.
What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction.
And only Peeta can give me that.

Hunger Games News Report: Mockingjay Movie
AND MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR!
BRUSH WITH FAME
Last weekend, I met one of the people who was in the Hunger Games. She is a friend of my mom and she was in town. My mom was going to go see her, and I was with her, so I got to meet a person who was an extra in three scenes! She said she met three of the stars: Katniss's Mom (Paula Malcomson), Prim (Willow Shields), and Rue (Amandla Stenberg). It was really cool to meet her. She said they were at the Reaping (Shelby, North Carolina) for four days. In the movie, she could be seen for four seconds walking in the direction of the camera in the Hob, in the square in the Capitol, and on the trading cards, when she is next to an African-American woman who is next to Katniss's mother. Here are some pictures:
She's not easy to see in this picture, but look at the middle where you see a back of a woman who looks as if she is about to cross the left side of the aisle to the right side of the aisle and then look up and you see a woman walking toward the camera. That's her.
She is looking at Katniss's mom here. Look all the way to the left.
I interviewed her over email. " I filmed 6 days total, 4 in district 12 and 2 in the Capitol," she told me.
" My favorite scene was the hob because there were only a few of us extras (25-30) and we got to interact with the 2nd
director and the crew. We got to walk around and pretend to shop
instead of just standing around. The four second scene took about 6
hours to film."
When I asked about the costumes, she said, "The clothes in the district were really from the 1930s and they were
worn and thread-bare. The shoes were the same. The movie company
brought the outfits from a costume shop in California. It was over 100
degrees so I was very glad that I had a short sleeve dress. Some ladies
had sweaters and the men had jackets and coal mining suits, not to
mention the peace keepers uniforms. Some of the clothes in the Capital
were made by the costume department but I think mine just came from the
Limited. I wore a black tube skirt, a blue silk blouse and six inch
high heels."
Because I had heard about how long it took to get the Capitol extras ready, I had to ask about it. "It was really quick to get ready for the district. We were not allowed
to wear make-up, just sun screen and coal dust for the hob. The capital
took about 5 hours to get all of us through wardrobe, hair and make-up
and then we filmed the scene through the night. There were a lot of us
for the parade scene but not as many as appear in the movie. They
copied and pasted the same group of people over and over," she replied. I thought the interview was very interesting, and it was fun to see what being in a movie was really like. Wednesday, October 3, 2012
THE HUNGER GAMES NEWS REPORT: CAST OF CATCHING FIRE
Hey, so I decided to do a little news segment for all of you HG fans who can't wait for Catching Fire, me being one! So, here are the details:

For Katniss, they had new auditions, because they kind of have to. So, the good news is: THEY STUCK WITH JENNIFER LAWRENCE!!!! That was probably the greatest decision they could possibly make, and she was SO great in the first movie, and it would NOT be good for the ratings if they didn't choose her, so, I say, it was a great decision, and by the way, see her in theaters NOVEMBER 23, 2013!!!!!!!! Gosh, I REALLY hope the world doesn't end!!! :)
For Peeta, the same thing happened. They had the auditions, and he got the part, thankfully! I think he was really great, and I look forward to NOVEMBER!!!!!! XD I wonder how on earth they are going to make everyone look presentable in blue jumpsuits and six-inch-wide purple belts... I guess we'll find out!
Now, for the victors. Cashmere is played by Stephanie Leigh Schlund, and, to be honest, I imagined Cashmere EXACTLY like her!!! You may recognize her from The Last Song, in which she played Will's (Liam Hemsworth) ex-girlfreind. She seems like she would be the perfect Cashmere, but we won't know for sure until it comes out. Let's hope for the best!
For Gloss, they cast Alan Ritchson... I've never heard of him, but I'm pretty sure he was in Superman...or was it Batman? Well, whatever the case, he seems good enough. He is supposed to look like Cashmere, after all they are brother and sister, but what do you think?
Enobaria is played by Meta Golding... She looks NOTHING like I imagined Enobaria...at all. I'm not being racist, but she was not black in my mind. I imagined her with honey-blond hair and brown eyes, and then, of course, her bizarre teeth. Do you agree?
Gary Ross chose Bruno Gunn as Brutus. I think it was a good move on his part. Bruno Gunn is almost exactly like I imagined him to look like. He's a little older than I'd expected, but that doesn't mean that he'll be terrible. You can't judge someone. We'll see how he acts in November.
Beetee is played by Jeffrey Wright. Not to be rude, but, THAT IS NOT BEETEE. I do not know what was going through the director's mind on that one, because, if I remember correctly, and I quote," Both are small in stature with ashen skin and black hair...Beetee, the man, is older and somewhat fidgety. He wears glasses but spends a lot of time looking under them." Does Jeffrey Wright match any of that? I think NOT!
The director chose Amanda Plummer to be Wiress, and it's not a bad decision, but I'm not completely on board with it. I imagined her younger, and once again, I don't see much of a resemblance. And really, can you imagine her saying, "tick, tock, tick, tock," over and over and over? And then it says that she sings that song about the mouse running up a clock. Can you see that?
Finnick... The gorgeous, young victor from District Four. The one with bronze hair, tan skin and sea green eyes. The one who is madly in love with Annie Cresta, the one who is really mad here. Is Sam Claflin Finnick Odair?
They chose Lynn Cohen to play Mags. She isn't really how I imagined her, but she's WAY better than Betty White, who actually auditioned to be Mags. LOL!!!!!!! But Lynn Cohen seems good enough, so let's wait and see!
Johanna Mason is played by Jena Malone. I think that was a great decision. She looks like Johanna with darker, longer hair. I can't wait to see that... Oh, wait. I forgot about what happens when Katniss meets her. That's gonna be awkward. Oh well. I think she'll be great.
For Seeder, the director chose Maria Howell. Great choice. With longer hair, she doesn't look like Seeder, she is Seeder. I agree with the people in charge on this one. What about you?
Chaff is going to be played by E. Roger Mitchell. I thought he would be older, but otherwise, great job directors! I remember Katniss saying that Chaff was black. How are they going to make his arm end in a stump? They did it with Soul Surfer, so I have faith in them. Do you agree?

That's all of the victors, well the ones that are featured. You don't really have to know the others. I'll update on news soon. Let me know what you think!
